Sichuan, located in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, is a province in southwestern China. It consists of the Sichuan Basin and the western Sichuan plateau and mountains up to more than 7500 m. The Sichuan Basin has fertile land, which has earned it the nickname “China’s granary”. Most of the province’s population lives in the Sichuan Basin, while the Yi, Tibetan, Qiang, etc., are scattered in the Western Sichuan plateau.
