The Kanbula National Park
About 110 km south of Xining City, the Kanbula National Park covers 152 square kilometers and enjoys altitudes of 2,100 and 4,000 meters. The Danxia Landform is the biggest highlight of Kanbula and attracts many travelers, photographers, nature lovers, adventurers, etc.
Danxia landform is a unique type of geomorphology formed from red sandstones and conglomerates of largely Cretaceous age. There are a total of 18 featured peaks with various postures, huge poses such as pillars, pagodas, towers, castles, etc., and smaller poses resembling humans and animals.
The forest accounts for 28% of the park and constitutes remarkable biological flora. There are more than 800 species of plants in the dense forest, ranging from temperate valley grassland to a cold temperate coniferous broad-leaved forest and high mountain sparse vegetation.
Some Buddhist monasteries and nunneries hidden in the forest add a more spiritual atmosphere to this stunning scene. Besides, many Tibetan villages allow you to take a short glimpse of local people’s daily life.
