Huangguoshuo Waterfall

128 kilometers from Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, the Huangguoshu Waterfall is located on the Baishui River in southwestern Guizhou. It is one of the largest waterfalls in China and Asia, with a height of 67 meters and a width of 83.3 meters.

The park extends over nearly 450km², and nature offers a permanent spectacle here with numerous animal and plant species characteristic of subtropical climates.

The best time to visit Huangguoshuo Waterfall is from May to October, especially in the rainy season from June to August, and the roaring water can be heard some kilometers away. Rainbows appear on sunny days, adding a touch of extra beauty to the majesty of the cascade. Spring (March to May) and winter (December to next February) are the dry seasons that Huangguoshu Waterfall has not lots of water.

About twenty kilometers upstream, the Doupotang waterfall, 20 m smaller than Huangguoshu, is just as remarkable and less frequented by tourists. A few kilometers downstream, there is a small park of 3km² that allows a pleasant walk through the karst peaks, in the middle of which the river runs by the Tianxing Bridge.
